Who would have thought that Sony would drop the ball, again. I have been keeping up to date with this game and its still nothing but issues and about 75% wish they never bought it. The other 25% are FANBOYS. Its just too bad they didnt get it right because it may have sold consoles for them. Well at least thats the case in my shoes. But I never did get "hyped" for this game just because I knew it would probally be a let down.

I find it funny that they can review a game that doesn't work. If you read some of the other reviews, they even say they gave it a shitty score because of technical issues. I'm not gonna bullshit...if SOCOM played like every other good online shooter for the PS3, the scores/reviews would be a hell of a lot better. So while the reviews are accurate right now, as soon as they fix the servers and a few in-game shortcomings, the game will be amazing.
Obviously they have to rate the game based on what was released. And what was released was garbage. But that's the glory of online games...everything is fixable.
I don't think I fall into either category, Bama. When the game actually works, it's fun as hell. For the first time in a long time I actually want to play a game for hours on end. SOCOM 3 was a joke compared to this and this is easily as good as SOCOM 2. Confrontation made me realize how much I missed the SOCOM series after being away from it for 2+ years.
Obviously it's a complete piss off that people can't play a stable SOCOM consistently, but I have absolute faith that these issues will be gone soon. I played for a solid 4 hours last night without so much as a hiccup. No freezing, no disconnects, no lag.

Well people will give up on it before its fixed. Then you have the faithful such as yourself that will stick around. But you have to think, you payed $60 or whatever it was to play a game to only get it home and for it not to work. It deserves bad reviews because it is a bad game. They delayed and delayed to fix these issues and they werent fixed. Why release it if your servers suck ass ? I wonder if it would suck ass if it was played on Xbox Live ? Hmmmm there a debatable topic. Maybe PSN needs to get an upgrade and charge a little money. And what about this game they have coming out called MAG (Massive Action Game) ? I dont see how it will hold up to 256 players online when they cant even keep 16 playing smoothly. Im sure that game (MAG) will be delayed for a long time.

I have no doubts that people have given up on this game. And I think it's utter bullshit that they released a beta and called it a game. But I'm not the type of person to throw my arms in the air and get all pissy because it doesn't work for a little while. There's more to a PS3 than SOCOM...and there's more to life than video games. Some people take shit too seriously. I know it will be fixed, so I don't worry about it.
I don't really think there is a debate between Live and PSN. There's nothing wrong with PSN. There are plenty of online games that go without a hitch. Would a paid service be better? Probably...money makes everything better. But SOCOM issues are SOCOM issues, not PSN issues. I'm in the Resistance 2 beta right now and it's perfect. Not a single ounce of lag...and it's a friggin' beta.
MAG is going to be a joke unless they can pull some kind of magic from some kind of magical ass. Especially considering who's making it.

Oh we could debate PSN and Live. Ask anybody with a 360 and anybody that has tried PSN. And yes we all have lives outside of video games. At least I hope we do. lol
With MAG though I really think it would be cool if they could pull it off. I think they said they will split it into teams of 8 so its not like your going to have 256 players in one area throwing grenades im sure. Or will they ? lol

I've never seen Live, but I'm not stupid. Obviously Live is better. My point was that PSN is not the downfall of SOCOM...or any game for that matter. PSN is more than capable of providing what it needs to.

I believe the game deserves to be scored. They released it, So time to pay the piper, I think they new there were going to be issues, so thats why know one got copies of this game for a pre-release review. Because they would have sold even less. You can have faith that Sony and Slant 6 will fix the issues. I am still waiting for Socom 2 and 3 issues to be fixed as well. Just think in 3 years you can buy the same 3 downloadable maps you bought on them as well and just 3 years after that 2 more maps. i am sure the time will fly by sitting there reconnecting to the servers and watching the little icon spin so joyfully. Try not to be so harsh, but I can't believe you are so forgiving whem they have fucked everyone so bad releaseing a game that wasn't ready or at least the servers weren't ready. There track record speaks for themselves. I am judging on past performance. Or lack of. And for the record I was pulling for this game to surprise me. This and Wipeout are 2 of my favs and was just looking for a reason to pick one up. Still waiting now.

I don't think anyone has it except for bunk and reaper. Like you said zero, their past performance speaks for itself!! No way in hell I would drop 60 bucks of my hard earned money on something that's a piece of shit coming off the line. And that's where the problem is at, people are willing to do it, they don't demand quality merchandise anymore!! Granted no game will be "perfect", but damn, at least get as close as you possibly can!

I'm still waiting for a good reason to buy confrontation and reading some of those reviews does not help at all. I wish they would truly tell how many copies were sold. I am very curious.
