Do you own the PS3 version of Black Ops? Is it “unplayable”? Does it lag and glitch and freeze and steal from you while you sleep and did it sex your mother? Well then you need to scoot on over to THIS site and make your voice heard!
It seems that almost 6000 people want their money back for their PS3 copy of Black Ops. They are claiming many things (some of which I just have to quote a little later on) are wrong with the Playstation 3 version that have not affected the 360 version. They are vexed at having to pay the same amount for a lesser product. As far as that goes, it is a fair enough statement, but also redundant as they could simply not buy it if they don’t want to pay the price. Nobody is forcing them to buy it, but they feel like someone tried to hornswoggle them and they want justice!
Choice comments made on the petition so far are thus:
“Sloppy graphics? Mario brothers on the NES has better graphics! Sounds? What sounds? mine goes incredibly quiet, constantly. Gameplay? Campaign is riddled with bugs and it lags just as bad as online gameplay.”
This is great stuff. By over exaggerating the lack of graphical quality you will surely be taken more seriously.
“Im tired of the constant disconnecting and lobby moving and stuff. I spend more time inviting friends into party than i do playing. I dont understand how i can be in a party with my friends, and when click join game, we all get sent to diff games What are you people doing about this?”
Is it helpful if I point out that this has been an issue for 360 users as well? That it has been an issue since Call of Duty 4? Does any of this help? No? Well then it’s obviously Treyarch’s fault.
“Modern Warfare 2 was way better gfx wise and sound wise. And MW2 was a game made a couple years ago!”
Actually, just 1 year. Also, if we are really honest, it looked the same. It did though didn’t it?
“I think that a full refund or immediate software update is necessary for Treyarch to save face on this one.”
The idea that an update is waiting to be immediately released is ignorant at best. From what I understand, they are working as fast as they can to figure out what is causing the issue.
Of course, there have been some serious issues, especially since the patch but to be honest I would never expect a refund in this case. I was shocked when people started getting refunds for APB just because the dev went under. You pays your money you takes your choice. It’s a risk but it’s life. I have read that a couple of MINOR features have been left out of the PS3 version. Things like split screen online play and the ability to have the game load directly into the multiplayer. these are not huge issues and certainly not grounds for a refund as I am sure you could find this stuff out on the vast information super highway before purchase.
I am sympathetic to those players with issues and I truly hope they get to play the game properly soon. I am in no way sympathetic to 99% of the people who have signed this petition however. It is after all only my opinion, but they are so abusive it’s childish and impossible to take them seriously. If you talk to people like that, they will know you’re upset but they won’t be desperate to help you out. They shout about how simple it is to fix and how the PS3 must be able to run the game as well as the 360 but they have no clue how to develop a game for a console or what obstacles the two completely different platforms may throw up.
There have been loads of multi-platform releases that have looked better on 360 or on PS3, but this is apparently now a valid reason for a refund. 6000 people are upset and that is definitely a bad thing, but before they declare their intention to boycott Activision and Treyarch (which is a totally new idea that has never completely not happened before) they might want to wonder why the millions of other users have not yet signed their petition. I’m sorry to poke fun, but seriously folks, if you can’t act your age or at least the required minimum age to own the game… what makes you think you’re going to get anything from these companies?
