SOCOM: CONFRONTATION PUBLIC BETA UPDATE Posted by Seth Luisi Due to overwhelming demand for the SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation Public Beta, we are experiencing load related issues. These issues are causing abnormal latency, disconnects, long load times, login errors and community features such as clans and stats not functioning correctly (or at all).
We are doing everything we can to resolve these issues as quickly as possible and you should see some improvements progressively over the next couple of days. However, we do not expect to have the issues completely resolved until close to the end of next week.
We apologize for the inconvenience.

OK... here is my experience lastnight playing the beta.
first off took about 40 min to just login. after getting into the game, i found my way to good ol US East 9. there was a M4H room. i found TDOGG, SGP Buck, and a couple ol BR cats. hoped into the game an first of i was alittle happy to see an old socom map...crossroads. but after playing it till 2:00am, the graphics were not that good compared to some of the other nex-gen games out right now. but it is an improvement from other socom games. OK lets get to the game play... everyone in the room (about 12 people) agreed on a few things; the game mechanics just arent there & the gameplay is VERY SLOW ang we wont get into the lag (it was bad but not as bad we knew it). your guys dont move as fast as the old socom. took a few matches to get used to the button layout, found myself pressing COD4 buttons. from 11:30pm (time i finally got to login) to 2:00am i played.... get this about 5 games, and the time on the map rounds is set to only 5 minutes (best out of 5). after each game when going back to the lobby took about 2 minutes & some people were stuck on the stats screen. add this to the time just to start the map (about 2 min) and you got some long load times for 1 map.
it felt good to play something old, but it does not capture what it once had. it just brought back all the thing s we hated about socom.

Sounds like you had a better experience than I, Joker. I had very little problems logging in. It didn't take long to get into a game either. Before I did anything, I decided to customize all my shit. I love the new character customization shit.
The first time I tried to get into a game, it froze and I had to reboot. The second time I tried, I got in fine but it was so laggy I could hardly play. I played 2 rounds and quit because it felt like I was playing Crysis on max settings on a PC from the 1980's. I really hope they get some of this shit fixed so we can actually enjoy the game.
Joker, if you found yourself hitting COD4 controls, customize that shit. I love the fact that you can completely customize each button to do what you want.
Also, if your character movement is slow, keep that encumbrance shit in mind. The heavier the equipment, the slower you move. I don't even know if that's what your problem was.
So far, I'm not impressed at all. I'm just hoping this will get a hell of a lot better by the time they fix it by "late next week".

Now if everybody has come to the conclusion that the magic in Socom has run it's course. Let's all buy graw2 for 20.00 for those that don't own it and play 50 maps worth of tactical shooter goodness. Thank You and good day!
