nope, I hang the big gun over the fireplace, I told my son I would teach him how to use it just in case he needed it. He has to be responsible and must clean it weekly. He's a good kid so I aint worried..
OK, now u know i'm on crack, I would never.. I do want my son to learn how to shoot but not these guns,, I want to go hunting with him, that's it but when he is older.
As far as safes' I have 2 of them; one of them is keypad entry and that's where we keep the bullets. The other safe I keep the taurus with 1 clip and ammo, in our bedroom just incase. Now my son never, ever comes into our bedroom unless we are there and thats good. The gun is hidden way above his height of reach.
The big gun is locked in the father in laws walk in closet and I have a gun lock on it, the string lock that goes thru the eject port and the clip entry. it's pretty safe there.
We are looking into getting a large gun cabinet to place in my closet..
All in all, i went shooting it this past weekend and we must have used up about 1000 rounds of ammo between the 3 guns, they shoot so good, especially the rifle. I have small bruise marks on my shoulder from the stock pressure, it's awesome tho..

I might be going to a pistol competition this weekend. My boss is ranked in the top 20 nationwide and invited me to go, he's going to let me borrow his S&W M&P 9mm which is similar to what I used in the military 18 yrs ago. I used to be pretty good. We'll see what time and age has done to my skills. I'm sure I'll be shitty, but it'll be fun.

We picked up a new gun a while ago, the Sprinfield XD 9mm, it's a nice little gun and shoots good. It's one of the easily concealables. I still need to get me a nice shotgun and a XDm 9mm 19+1.. freaking awesome!!!!!
but I got to pay some bills first.. it's gonna have to wait.

I think what we need to remember is that the person who owns the guns legaly is responsible. The senseless shooting usually are illegaly owned guns. I live in Mo. where we can carry a handgun legaly. A old woman 'a grandma' in my home town of St. Joseph was approached in a grocery store parking lot and the guy said give me your wallet she said here you can have it. And pulled outa 38. and shot him. I guarantee a lot of other purse robbers are thinking twice about robbing grandmas a least for awhile. We don't have to worry about responsible gyn ownership it is the illegal ownership we have to worry about. Bunk I say buy any gun you want it's your right. Just be responsible when shootin and storage of said weapons.

Yeah, I believe the personal crime rate is so much lower here because anyone can be carrying. Personal crimes are considered stickups and such. Here, the only crimes you hear about is breakins (on vacation homes) and the crimes of the big city where gun ownership is so much stricter. I think they try to restrict gun ownership so much in nyc that is the same reason the crime rate is where it is. Sure you hear less about murders although there are still some, but you hear so much about personal crimes and then there are those crimes that are never reported. Its a shame really.
I think they need to let the public loose. then those little motherfuckers who think they are tuff trying to mug folks and get initiated into gangs by slicing would get a nice surprise if a victim pulled a gun and blasted them...
Imaging the face.
